I was pretty surprised tonight to see that my entire gallery had been cleared out due to "copyright infringement". I haven't a clue what brought this on, I still see plenty of sigs on this site featuring renders of videogame and famous characters that other people have made but apparently I can't.

I'm fairly sure most forum signatures feature some kind of popular character, so I'm surprised to see this snap when a signature banner catergory still exists here to encourage that type of work. Better yet, I love how I'm allowed to upload a screenshot of a game featuring a piece I've basically just recoloured but I'm still not to upload a graphical piece featuring a character from the same game.

It's not like I ever claimed ownership to any of the characters either, I'm fairly sure I mentioned who the character was and where they were from in all my artist comments. I can appreciate it if a link to the renders original source would be preferred with each piece, but then I would appreciate some kind of warning about it because I sure as hell can't be fucked re-uploading everything to add that now.

Ironically I recieved two notices regarding all this. One telling me 20 pieces from my gallery have been deleted and the other telling me my "Halo PC League forum banner" is a copyright infringement. This specific piece I had actually said in the artist comment "this piece has even been stolen by another forum, but what am I gonna do hey, claim copyright of Master Chief?", and for those as legendarily thick as the systems or admins here at DA, that was sarcasm.
